Shree Parshuram Bhumi, Burondi

Parshuram Bhumi or Parshuram Memorial is a well-maintained private property built in the village of Burondi, on the hill that is near to Ladghar beach. Here you will see a massive bronze statue of Lord Parashuram standing on the replica of Earth, and inside the replica, there is a meditation or prayer room for the visitors. Lord Parshuram is believed to be the one who had created Konkan by shooting an arrow, hence a great deal of significance is given to Lord Parshuram by the locals.

Parshuram Bhoomi is 11 km away from Dapoli and located in Burondi village. Mr. Dnyaneshwar Shivaji Gajul from Solapur established this statue on 16-6-2010. Perched atop a hill in Dapoli, Parshuram Bhumi offers visitors a serene retreat with awe-inspiring panoramic views. The focal point of this attraction is the magnificent 21-foot statue of Lord Parshuram, gracefully positioned atop a half-globe with a 20-foot radius. The tranquil atmosphere and stunning vistas of Ladghar Beach aka Tamas Teertha and the surrounding landscapes make this a must-visit destination for those seeking solace and natural beauty. You can watch the ‘Tamas Teertha’ (red sea) from the hilltop. It is so because the seawater looks red from above in the light.

As you ascend to the top, the quiet and peaceful ambiance envelops you, inviting you to explore the unique design and architecture of the dome that houses the statue of Lord Parshuram. The meditative space within the dome allows visitors to connect with their inner selves, as the echo of their own voices reverberates gently through the structure, creating a harmonious experience.

The serene setting of this hilltop sanctuary provides a perfect backdrop for moments of reflection and relaxation. Visitors can immerse themselves in the tranquility of the surroundings and bask in the beauty of the mountains and lush green hills that stretch out before them.

It is a belief that Lord Parshuram is Lord Vishnu’s sixth incarnation. He was born to Renuka Devi and sage Jamdagni. The legend has it that he threw his war axe into the sea due to which the Western Coastal land arose. That is why people in Konkan worship Lord Parshuram devotedly. His devotees believe that one who worships Parshuram earns tremendous bravery and power. There is also a temple dedicated to him in South Goa.

While the roads leading to Parshuram Bhumi are well-maintained, some minor inconveniences like restroom cleanliness and water scarcity have been noted. However, the free entry and the availability of vendors offering refreshments just outside the site add a touch of convenience to the overall experience. The spacious parking area ensures easy access for visitors keen to explore this hidden gem.

For those seeking a unique and peaceful escape, Parshuram Bhumi stands out as a place of solace and inspiration. Whether you’re admiring the intricate design of the dome, meditating in its echo chamber, or simply enjoying the serenity of the surroundings, a visit to this spiritual sanctuary promises a memorable and enriching experience.
