Devbaug Beach is a popular tourist spot located in the coastal town of Malvan, Maharashtra. This place is famous for its backwaters. It offers an excellent view of the convergence of the Karli River and the Arabian Sea. The beach is known for its clear waters, soft sand and serene environment that attracts tourists from different parts of the country. Besides, you can also enjoy a beautiful view of sunset or sunrise at this scenic location.
Devbaug beach is adjacent beach to Tarkarli beach. Devbaug Sangam, a southernmost end of Devbaug form confluence of the Karli River flowing into the Arabian Sea. The place where this confluence happens is called as “Mobar Point” locally. Sunset is the peak time to watch this nature expression. Local fishermen recently started water sports near the confluence at Tsunami Island. Here, you can indulge in various water sports activities such as boating, water-scooter rides, jet ski, bumper ride, banana/dolphin boat ride, Kayak boating sports and para-sailing.
This long spread beach attracts the visitors by its bright white sand and clean beautiful blue water. This place is a must visit for birdwatchers as many birds are spotted here. As this place has shallow deepness in creek, flock of local sea birds, ‘Sea Eagles’ add to the beauty of clean surroundings by playing with the sea waters. A hill in the back drop offers panoramic view of Arabian sea.
Devbaug is blessed with natural beauty and is covered in coconut palms and lush greenery. An erstwhile fishing hamlet Devbaug now is developing into a popular tourist destination with a good majority of youth preferring the tourism industry to fishing.
Devbaug has a distinct appeal similar to south Goa with grottos and crosses adorning the quaint hamlet intermittently. The beach for most parts is very clean with white sand and the turquoise blue sea complementing it. The backwaters on one side of Devbaug gives it a completely different feel and makes it a unique beach destination in Maharashtra.
The nearest railway station to Devbaug Beach is Kudal, which is approximately 30 km away. From there, you can easily hire a cab or take a bus to reach the beach.
