Once the monsoon season begins, the glare of the summer starts to become a little bearable. As the green moor grass begins to peep from the mountains, you immediately begin to dream of the Sahyadri hills. You are tempted to see the beautiful white waters flowing from the heights of the green, dense forest covered mountain

Once you cross the Baav river, near Sangmeshwar, on the Mumbai-Goa highway, you go to the Nivli Ghat. You are forced to stop while traveling on this ghat to see the spectacular waterfall, flowing with force while cutting through the greenery. Standing on the edge of the road, you are awestruck at seeing the gorgeous Nivli waterfall. During Shravan, in the peak of rainy season, you can see the sun rays peeping through the clouds which are rapidly flowing over the waterfall and the forest
It is also a good spot to enjoy bathing when the flow of the waterfall is low. But it is very important to be careful and alert while playing near the waterfall. The distance between Ratnagiri city and the Nivli waterfall is hardly 18 kilometers.
