Kelshi Beach in Dapoli is a serene and picturesque destination located along the Konkan coast in Maharashtra, India. A 3km eye appealing stretch of a sandy beach welcomes the visitor to the Kelshi beach which is ornamented with the huge forest made of slender and tall Casuarina trees, and a dense cover of coconut tree tops. A calming walk under the dense foliage leads one to the wide and beautiful beach of Kelshi.

It is also known as a great place for bird watching, with a variety of migratory birds dancing around the coast, enjoying the most natural beach environment. In winter, birds such as white gulls, sandwich terns, blue-green kingfishers, black-hatted kingfishers and exotic multi-colored oriental kingfishers can be seen. White-bellied sea eagles, Spotted Munia and the Great Reed Warbler are also found in the area, making it an ornithophilus dream.
In the Konkani language, the rocky area near the beach is called ‘Khadap’. A variety of marine resources can be found on the black cliffs that penetrate the sea near the Utambar mountain. Various marine organisms such as conch, mussels, crabs, sea cucumbers, urchins, crabs are found in the water stored on the rocks. This is a great place to see the precious marine treasures. Similarly, a huge sand dune appears to have formed on the shores of Kelshi. Researchers have suggested that the hill may have been formed by a tsunami that occurred some time ago.
