The holy centre of Sharada Devi is at Turambav, in Chiplun Taluka of Ratnagiri District. Turambav village is 12 kilometres away from the Sawarde on the Mumbai-Goa highway and The Sharada Devi temple is another 4 kilometres away from there. Interestingly, this is the only Sharda temple in the entire Konkan region.
This temple is situated in an extremely beautiful surrounding. The temple is surrounded by dense forests and lush greenery from all three sides making it one of the best temples to visit in Chiplun. Devotees experience the intense peace that prevails here.
During the Navratri festival a huge celebration takes place every year. Even in the present age of modernity this festival here has retained its uniqueness from the past few centuries. On the first two days of Navratri, religious and cultural programs such as Jakhadi dance, Bhajan, Dindi etc. are organized. On the third day, the celebrations of Sharadostav take place. Devotees from different parts of Ratnagiri enthusiastically take part in this celebration.
The temple of Shree Sharda Devi at Turambav designed completely in Rajasthani style has become an attraction since last couple of years. The eastern side of the temple is surrounded by dense forest and hills on other three sides. Marble stones with carvings have been used in the temple. In the center of the temple there is a dome-shaped chauthara, on which the idols of village deities Shri Devi Vardayini, Shri Devi Manai, Shri Devi Chandika are installed along with the idol of Shri Sharada Devi in the middle. According to the custom here, the daily worship of the idol in the temple is entrusted to the local Guru also known as the Gaonkar of the village.
