About Dashbhuja Ganesh Temple

Dashbhuja Laxmi Ganesh Temple is situated at Hedvi village of Guhagar taluka in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra, India. During the Peshwa era, Shree Kelkar Swami built this temple with the help of the Peshwas and established this idol. According to local lore, Peshvas paid an amount of Rs. One lakh to construct this temple. The reconstruction of the temple took place in 1956 on the initiative of Shri Shivram Govind alias Kakasaheb Jogalekar. This idol has ten arms with ten weapons. The 10 hands of Lord Ganesha are occupied by Trishul, Dhanushya, Gada, Chakra, Shankha, Parshu, Lotus, Broken tooth, Grain paddy, and Modak. This piece of art is an interesting and exciting sight. Siddhalakshmi, one of the Ashtasiddhis, is seated on the left thigh. There is an amrit kalash in the trunk and this idol as the name suggests is shown with one tooth.
