Snorkeling is a water activity that allows you to explore the shallow underwater world while floating on the water’s surface. Equipped with a snorkel (breathing tube), a diving mask, and fins, you can observe vibrant coral reefs, colorful fish, and other marine life without diving deep. Unlike scuba diving, snorkeling doesn't require heavy equipment, making it an ideal option for beginners and those who want a simpler way to enjoy the beauty beneath the waves.
One of the popular recreational activities while you visit Konkan is Snorkeling. Snorkeling is the practice of swimming on or through a body of water while equipped with a diving mask, a shaped tube called a snorkel, and a tube tyre. Use of this equipment allows the snorkeler to observe underwater attractions like colorful exotic fishes and hugh Corals, for extended periods of time with relatively less effort.
The primary appeal is the opportunity to observe underwater life in a natural setting without the complicated equipment and training required for scuba diving and it appeals to all ages. Unlike Scuba Diving, you need not know swimming to experience snorkeling.
Best time to go for Snorkeling is aroung 10.30-11am when the sun is bright and the waters are clear. There are a variety of exotic fishes and plants which you probably must have seen only in the discovery channel. The process begins with transferring you from the shore to the location in a boat. Once you reach the spot, you are given a pair or goggles, a snorkel and an inflated tyre that allows you to stay above the water at all times.
You also have a guide who gives information about the different fishes and corals. He will also provide you some bread to shred in the water and the fishes immediately come to eat it. You can practically touch the fishes and its as if they eat out of your hand. The whole experience is simply breathtaking.
The best part comes now. Considering the thrill and adventure Snorkeling offers, its quite easy to assume it would be highly priced. Well then, you are in for a surprise. The cost of experiencing snorkeling in Malvan is less than what you pay for a movie ticket in a Multiplex. So, do not forget to enjoy snorkeling when you visit Konkan next.
